Hopefully some upsets start happening above you so you don't have to rely on chaos if you run into a trap game down the stretch

HISTORIC NIGHT ALMOST RUINED!!!
GAME RECAP

Tua Draft is officially the All-time passing yards leader at both Boise State and in the Pac-12, surpassing Kellen Moore and Luke Falk in the records books but the night almost didn't end in celebration as Draft throws a career high 4 INT's as BSU escapes what could've been a playoff dream killing loss to the Arizona State Sun Devils.

BSU jumped out to the early (14-0) lead as Draft throws a pair of short touchdowns to Jermarcus Boykins out of the backfied. but Arizona State battles back behind their own QB Jamie Cuevas (81 ovr) The Sophomore threw a pair of touchdowns to fellow SO TE Femi Vaitai to tie the game (14-14) early in the 2nd Quarter. BSU would retake their lead as backup RB Jason Whitted breaks lose on a HB Draw for a 26 yd touchdown to make it (21-14) but Arizona State answers back with a touchdown of their own as RB Shoni Teamer caps off a 11 play drive with a 2 yd run to make it (21-21) BSU would retake the lead (28-21) on a 76 yd bomb from Draft to Conner Friesz who was making his first start since Week 2. to make it (28-21) with 3:52 to play. BSU would get the ball back with under a 2:18 to play but after a pair of short runs and a 3rd down incomplete pass settle for a 34 yd FG by Cedric Eagles to make it (31-21) with 52 seconds left on the clock. The Defense again goes to work forcing another quick 3 and out and after a 33 yd run by Brian Crum, Boise State found themselves at mid field with 18 seconds to play. Miller looking to make a statement with putting more points on the board called in the play as he looked for Draft to get the team get Eagles in range for another FG try.. Instead the play backfired as Draft throws his 2nd INT of the game but this one was a dagger to the heart as JR FS Dave Westbrook takes it back to the house for the "Pick 6" make it (31-28) as both teams head to the locker room.

Boise State opened up the 2nd half with the ball and Draft and Friesz went back to work as Friesz caps off a 8 play drive with a 2 yd score to make it (38-28).. Arizona State would get a slight scare midway through the 3rd Quarter leaves the game with the Sun Devils inside the redzone but backup QB Ben Kendricks delivers a 19 yd touchdown strike to make it (38-35) Arizona State would come up with INT #3 in the game as Draft's pass is tipped at the line of scrimmage and DT Teddy Nordin making a insane diving catch but the Sun Devils were forced to settle for a short FG make it (38-38) as we start the 4th.

Boise State would look to slow things down in the 4th as the Broncos turn to Brian Crum and the Sophomore RB delivers as he carries the ball 8 times of his team high 30 carries including a 8 yd touchdown run to cap a 13 play drive that takes 4 minutes off the clock as BSU retakes the lead (45-38). Cuevas would return but the Sun Devils followed Boise States gameplan as JR RB Khaild Staymates picks up a pair of 1st downs including a 33 yd run but the drive would stall as Arizona State shocks the stadium with a punt with 2:38 to play.

With Draft already having thrown 3 INT on the day, Miller would look to run Crum and company to kill out the clock but after 2 short runs left a 3rd and 8 and Miller was forced to throw and the Sun Devils were ready as they pick off Draft for INT #4 as SR CB Rodney Kelikipi takes it to the house for the another "Pick 6" as ASU ties the game (45-45) with 1:42 to play.

With 4 INT's on the day, the Bronco fan base was divided.. Some wondered if just maybe backup Cameron Hooks should get a chance. But Miller was sticking with his Gunslinger.. Drafted wasted little time as the he hits TE Roy Carney for a pair of 1st down catches before finding UCLA transfer Marquez Stockton over the middle for a 21 yd gain to push BSU to midfield.. Draft would then find backup TE Larry Ika on a 12 yd gain as BSU moves into Eagles potential FG range. A couple of short runs by Crum would move the ball to the middle of the field and with 14 seconds to play Eagles would connect on the game winner..

WEEK 8 TEAM REPORT

T. DRAFT
With 2295 yds on the season, Draft has officially taken over as the All-time passing yards leader and with 22 TD's on the season, Draft now has 138 on his career leaving him 18 shy of breaking Houston Case Keenum's NCAA record of 155 and just 5 shy of breaking Kellen Moore's BSU record.

Miller
"Tua Draft is a exceptional QB, who will leave Boise State multiple NCAA, Pac-12 and Boise State records.. He also led us to a National Championship, so I am sorry if their are people inside our fanbase that can't handle the fact he has 44 career INT's Yes we have a great backup in Cameron Hooks but Tua is my ride or die.. People seem have forgotten the fact he 33-4 as a starter in 37 games played."
CRUM WANTS ANOTHER 1000

Last year Brian Crum played in just 11 games as a True Freshman, but that didn't stop the former 5* and #1 RB in the country from producing 1269 yds and 20 TD's on 238 carries.. Now 1 year later the Crum is at it again with 138 carries for 698 yds and 8 TD's through 6 games showing he is more then capable of trying to chase down some Boise State records of his own.

FRIESZ BIG IN RETURN

WR Conner Friesz had just 4 receptions in the Broncos first 2 games for a total of 60 yds well scoring 2 touchdowns, but the Redshirt Junior made a huge impression in his return from injury logging 10 receptions for 285 yds and 2 scores as the shows why he won the #1WR job this past spring.

SHOULD BOISE STATE MAKE A CHANGE ON DEFENSE

DC Erik Chinander is one of the few Boise State coaches still on staff since Coach Spencer Danielson's departure to Washington and was considered a great hire by Coach Miller whose background is on the Offensive side of the ball as both a player (WR) and Coach (OC/WR/QB Coach).

However the past 2 seasons Boise State's Defense has struggled to create turnovers and or create sacks with Chinander's 4-2-5 Defense and this year hasn't really been any different. Colorado transfer Tyler Rossi has 5.5 sacks through the first 6 games but the rest of the Defense has combined for just 7.5 giving BSU just 13 on the season The Secondary hasn't produced much either besides True Freshman Roland Finely who has 3 of the Broncos 4 INT's.

To make matters worse, BSU currently is giving up 37.3 PPG which puts them in the Top-10 in terms of giving up the most points . The only Defense in the Pac-12 playing worse then Boise State is Oregon State and the the Beavers are currently 0-7 and 0-4 in Pac-12 play.

RECRUITING STRUGGLES RETURN
Just 1 year after signing the #2 Overall class in the nation, Boise State has struggled to make a repeat performance instead it appears that Miller and his staff are back to struggling to close the deal on several top recruits despite starting the year in their Top-5, Top-3 and even Top-1.

5* CB Ceasar Vazquez (#10/#1/#1) had BSU in his Top-3 to start the year, but the Gatorade POY of the year from Texas has dropped BSU from his Top-3 despite taking a Week 7 visit to BSU during the win over ASU and has committed to Oklahoma.

4* CB Kareem Spriggs (#199/#2HI/#21) also has locked BSU out as he has finalized his Top-3 with Washington/Cal and Arizona State

BSU also lost out on a pair of 4* OT'S. Roger Vernon (#78/#3/#60) has narrowed his choice down to either SMU or Minnesota well Alonzo Clemens (#123/#1/#8) is deciding between Nebraska and Florida.

Already weak on the D-Line and at LB, both spots took a hit as 4* DE Jose Ceasar (#82/4/#10) has signed with Nebraska despite making a Week 5 trip to Boise and 4* MLB Tyler Dewey (#412/#35/#24) has cut BSU from his Final-2 list despite the Broncos starting the year in his Top-3 with UCLA currentl leading Arizona State for his services.

With these players off the Board, Boise State had 28 players left on their Big Board including (7) 5* Prospects led by 5* QB Tobias Barksdale the #1 players in the country and 5* RB Greg Stock the #2 player in the country.. Barksdale is scheduled to visit BSU in Week 9 as the Broncos take on Colorado. Ole Miss currently is #2 but the Rebels signed 2 Top-5 QB's in last year's class as well as 2 of the Top-5 QB transfer in last year's portal

RS SO Marcus Tyree (94 ovr)-Transfer from LSU
RS SO Jahil Chinn (92 ovr)-Transfer from Southern Miss
(R) FR E. Durham (81 ovr)
(R) FR Corey Chunn (76 ovr)

Many wonder why BSU might be interested in trying to land the #1 RB and Utah Gatorade POY for a 3rd straight year (Crum/Waller) and now Stock.. The Answer.. You can never have enough talented RB's..

Reports are that former 4*'s Jason Whitted and Randal Amerson are looking for a school that could offer more PT.. Both players carry a 4.2 yd per carry average and Whitted when healthy has shown the ability to be a teams #1 RB (102 carries 425 yds 9 TD) with 4 runs of 20+ yards.
