Smokey Pendergrass coming with the heat :kghah:

excited to be here for a James chise :blessed:
Always gotta be someone being spicy, but he's not entirely wrong after a 2-10 season with no SEC wins.

Thanks, I am looking forward to the atmosphere and it's hard to turn down a rivalry against Lane Kiffin. Plus the SEC will always be competitive which I am looking forward to.

I'm excited to be back, I think this should have more momentum than my chise on CFB25. I ran out of steam constantly switching teams, it will be nice to have the same team from start to finish.

Lebby Fired for Art Briles Camp Apperance
Rob Stock – Bulldog Report

Image
Jeff Lebby generated controversy at Oklahoma when he brought Briles on the field after a game

After only a season as the head coach of Mississippi State Jeff Lebby has been relieved of his position as the head coach. The head coach was relieved due to former Baylor coach Art Briles appearing before high schoolers at a Mississippi State football camp and giving a speech in full Mississippi State apparel only available to the coaching staff. This comes as the team is preparing for the upcoming season following a 2-10 season with no wins in conference play in Lebby’s first year.

According to a statement put out by Mississippi State University officials this action was taken due to a violation of Lebby’s contract regarding Briles. Briles was not to engage in any activity on or off campus that would seem to appear as an official representative of the university. Officials pointed out that the apparel that Briles was wearing was only available to staff members, and giving a speech to high schoolers while wearing that apparel during an official university sanctioned camp constituted a clear violation of the policy.

Officials also provide a brief summary of how the violation came to light. One of the high school coaches attending the camp alerted the university to the violation after listening to Briles speech to the campers. It is also noted that the speech’s theme was about “putting brotherhood above all else” and making sure you put “your brothers ahead of everything else and focus on your goals”. These are especially egregious statements after the very serious assaults that occurred at Baylor while Briles was running the program and turned a blind eye to.

Jeff Lebby’s legal representative released a brief statement stating that “the university was looking for an easy way out of his contract” and “that punishing him for a false narrative against his father-in-law” was antithetical to the first amendment and he would be suing to get an injunction to prevent his firing.

This leaves the administration at Mississippi State in a bind, they need to quickly finalize their head coaching search for the upcoming season. However, with the threat of being possibly removed from the position and Lebby being re-instated, even just briefly, would be a major hurdle to overcome in the recruitment of any prospective head coach.
