Who doesn't love some Charred Duck... What's funny is signed Cam Hooks who is a RS Soph out of the portal last season.. He was only a 4* and was like ranked #100 so I thought, I was grabbing a guy who maybe I would have for a 2 years after Draft left well I searched for my next QB. Instead Hooks comes in rated as a 91 ovr.. When I did a sim ahead to get an idea who might leave early and who might jump into the Portal, there was Hooks thinking about the NFL as a 6th round pick, well Rattay my #3 (also a RS SO rated 79 ovr) hits the portal looking for PT, leaving me no QB's on my roster except former 3* ATH Tyrone Waddle who I moved to WR this past off-season. So yea Barksdale at this point looks like a Day 1 starter probably and hopefully maybe I can get lucky and get 3 years out of him

BRONCOS MAKE IT 8 STRAIGHT!!
GAME RECAP
Boise State won it's 8 straight game since their Week 1 loss well also improving to (6-0) in Pac-12 play putting them in pretty good position to claim the Pac-12 North title with 3 games to play as they defeat Washington State on the road in Week 11.
The Cougars played well in the 1st Quarter giving the home crowd hope as JR QB Manuel Suarez (79 ovr) throws a pair of touchdowns to tie the game (14--14), but Boise State retake the lead in the 2nd Quarter as Tua Draft throws his 2nd and 3rd touchdowns of the day as Marquez Stockton (26 yds) and Conner Friesz (28 yds) both haul in scores. making it (28-14) at the half.
BSU would open up the 2nd half with the ball and quickly added to their lead as Jermarcus Boykins already with a receiving touchdown in the 1st Quarter adds a 14 yd rushing score to make it (31-14)..The Broncos would add to their lead later as Cedric Eagles connects from 45 yds out to make it (34-14).
With most of the home crowd already out the door, those left were able to watch as Boise State turns the ball over twice in the 4th Quarter (INT and Fumble) but both turnovers would lead only to a pair of FG's as the Cougars go 3/16 on 3rd downs on the day.

BRONCOS DOMINATE BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL
GAME RECAPBoise State dominates the 1st half despite 2 INT’ by Tua Draft early in the game.
BSU opened up the game with a 25 yd run by Brian Crum who was coming off a 192 yard performance last week against Washington State. Draft would end the 1st drive with a INT instead the redzone facing a 3rd and goal but the Broncos quickly get the ball back as SR CB Kyrie Darnold comes away with a INTof his own giving Draft new life and the SR QB delivers a 10 yd strike TE Roy Carney for the first score of the game. Utah answers back though tying the game (7-7) with 4 minutes to play in the 1st.
Drafts 2nd INT would give the Broncos next drive but a quick 3 and out gives BSU the ball back with 3:11 to play After a pair of 1st down pass plays BSU would turn back to SO RB Brian Cumb who delivers with a nice 22 yd score on a direct snap as BSU takes the lead (14-7).
The 2nd Quarter started slow for the Broncos as Cedric Eagles misses a pair of FG’s (56 yds and 28 yds) but a 35 yd pass from Draft to Conner Friesz puts the Broncos in scoring position and Draft finds Friesz again for a 7 yd score as BSU extends their lead to (21-7).
Utah after a pair of 1st downs is forced to punt after Freshman QB George Wear(68 ovr) takes a sack for a 8 yd loss and Boise State pounces as Boykins and Crum combine for 40 yards to help another score as Draft finds True Freshman Eric Zentner on a 19 yd strike to make it (28-7).
Another Boise State INT this time by SR SS Nake Kohou set ups another scoring opportunity for the Broncos but facing a 4th and 2, Coach Miller elects to go for it vs sending out Eagles for a 23 yd FG.. The Utes Defense comes up with a huge stop but again Wear and the offense fail to put points on the board.
Still (28-7) Utah punts the ball to Boise State with 4 seconds to play in the half. Miller up by 3 scores calls for a HB draw to end the half but Jermarcus Boykins has other ideas as he takes the handoff 69 yds to the house as BSU silences the #21 ranked crowd at Rice Eckles Stadium.
Crum (13 carries 117 yds 1 TD) and Boykins (8 carries 111 yds 1 TD) combine for 228 yds and 2 scores well Draft finishes the half 19/31 for 223 yds with 3 TD and 2 INT.
Draft's 3rd INT of the game opens up the 2nd half as Akee Otomewo takes the INT and turns it into a "Pick 6" to make it (35-14) but Boise State answers back as Jermarcus Boykins breaks free for another huge 62 yd touchdown run making it (42-14). BSU would get the ball back as the Bronco Defense steps up and picks off George Wear as Roland Finley get's his 5th INT of the season setting up a Brian Crum 1 yd score to make it (49-14) but Wear rebounds with his 2nd touchdown of the game making it (49-21) as we head into the 4th.
The 4th Quarter was all Boise State. Wear would leave the game early in the 4th as fellow FR QB Ben Sturdivant (66 Ovr) takes over. Sturdivant would struggle completing just 3/16 passes on the day for 54 yds and worse he would throw 2 INT's as the Broncos Defense comes away with 5 I INT's on the day.
On Offense Jermarcus Boykins and Brian Crum were not done dominating the Utes Defense. With Tua Draft on the sidelines, Redshirt Sophomore transfer Cam Hooks (San Diego State) would take over under center and Boykins would make him look good taking one of his first pass's 63 yds to the house. Boykins would then add a 9 yd TD run for his 3rd rushing touchdown and 4 score on the day to make it (63-21).
Brian Crum however wasn't done yet though. Crum who played multiple high school games at Rice-Eccles growing up in Salt Lake would score 3 more times on the day including a 32 yd run with less then 20 seconds to play as Boise State scores a season high 87 points.
FINAL SCORE BOISE STATE-87 UTAH-21

For sure... It's been a weird season. I made some slider adjustments after that 100 point game vs Memphis and it seemed to be giving me a bigger challenge especially cutting down y big runs by Crum/Boykins but Utah throwing 5 INT set me up for quite a few easy scores and those guy's just slashed trough the Utah Defense..
Draft is going to get a chance to set next week, as I really want to take a look at Hooks and Oregon State is 1-9 so maybe a week off before Senior Night against the Huskies will be the wake up call he needs. But the Dude is a Gun Slinger. He makes mistakes but also plays so well at times too.

With Week 12 in the books, we have just 2 weeks left in the regular season as teams make their final push for a spot in this year's Top-12 playoff. 5 teams remain in this year's Top-25 rankings with a undefeated record and 3 of those currently sit in the Top-3 spots leaving everyone else fighting for that last Top-4 seed and 1st Round Bye.
(10-0) Texas sits in the #1 spot coming off a huge (58-6) win over Iowa in Week 12 the Longhorns will face a little bit tough test in Week 13 as they travel to College Station to take on the #20 ranked Aggies. and then close out their year with another Top-25 ranked team in TCU.
(10-0) Michigan is #2 and is coming off a (31-28) win @ Wisconsin. The Wolverines will head home to host Minnesota before taking on their #1 rival #10 Ohio State in Columbus who is still clinging to their own playoff hopes.
(10-0) LSU is #3 and is coming off a (30-25) win over Missouri but close out their season with back to back road games (@Arkansas and @ Tulane)
(9-1) Nebraska has jumped from #7 to #4 in the past 2 weeks and appears to be in a pretty good position going into a possible Big 12 matchup with Texas as they close out their season vs (3-7) Iowa State and then on the road vs (7-3) Iowa.
(9-1) Florida has moved into the #5 spot.. The Gators are riding a 7 game win streak that included a win vs then #5 now #18 Georgia back in Week 10 but the Gators will close out their year vs #9 (8-2) Miami and #25 (8-2) Florida State who both would love to add a win over the Gators to their resume.
(9-1) Louisville is #6. The Cardinals only loss this season was to LSU back in Week 7.. Since then they have won 5 straight including a huge win over Ole Miss in Week 12 knocking the Rebels from the Top-25 and out of playoff discussions. The Cardinals will play @ (7-3) Tennessee in Week 13 before hosting instate rival (2-8) Kentucky in Week 14.
(9-1) Boise State has dropped another spot this week to #7 despite putting up 87 points against Utah. The Broncos winners of their last 8 games will close out their season at home on "The Blue" were they will look to extend their new home win streak to #5/#6 first hosting (1-9) Oregon State in Week 13 and then facing Top-25 ranked (8-2) Washington as they look to secure their 5th straight Pac-12 title shot and their 8th straight playoff trip.
(9-1) Pitt is #8.. The Panthers are coming off a 42-0 win over Northwestern and will look to close out their season against (6-4) Indiana at home before taking on (6-4) Penn State in Happy Valley in Week 14.
(9-1) Miami. The Hurricanes are #9 coming off a (35-23) win @ Florida State in Week 12.If the Hurricanes can beat #5 Florida this week they could secure the ACC South Division.
(8-2) Oklahoma State moves to #10 this week after a (35-17) win over instate rival Oklahoma. The Cowboys will close out their season vs (7-3) K-State and then on the road @ (1-9) Kansas but will need a Nebraska loss if they have any shot at going to the Big 12 title game.
(8-2) Ohio State is #11.. The Buckeyes pulled off a (37-34) win over Cincinnati and will face Rutgers in Week 13 before the host #2 Michigan in Week 14 with their shot at a Big Ten title on the line.
(10-0) USC is #12.. The Trojans moved up 4 spots this week from #16 after a (42-7) win over Fresno State.. The Trojans play @ (3-7) Arizona this week before hosting (7-3) UCLA as they look to secure the Pac-12 South crown.
(8-2) Auburn is #13. The Tigers also jumped 4 spots this week going from #17 to #13 as they look to keep their playoff hopes alive.. Auburn will host Missouri in Week 13 before taking on #24 Alabama on the road in this year's Iron Bowl.
(10-0) UConn is #14. The Huskies like the 2 teams in front of the jumped 6 spots going from #20 to #14 as they keep their undefeated season alive but could a late non-conference matchup with #23 (9-1) Tulsa derail the Huskies playoff dreams?
(8-2) Duke is #15.. The Blue Devils also jumped 6 spots going from #21 to #15 after a (26-20) win over South Carolina. The Blue Devils will face #21 (7-3) Clemson with the ACC North title on the line in the Tigers last chance at keeping any type of playoff hope alive as well
**Georgia was this week's big loser. The Bulldogs dropped from #8 to #18 as they lost their 3rd game in the past 4 weeks falling (28-27) to Virginia Tech. With 3 loss's in the ACC, the Bulldogs got now shot a spot in the ACC title game and also no shot at the playoffs.

BOISE STATE TEAM REPORT
CAM HOOKS TO START AT QB VS THE BEAVERS
With just 2 games left in the season backup QB Cam Hooks is going to make his first start of the season.. The San Diego State transfer despite playing in just 2 games this season is projected as a late selection in next year's NFL Draft.. Hooks has completed 20/30 passes (66%) throwing for 222 yds and 3 TD.
Miller
BRIAN CRUM ALREADY OVER 1000 LOOKS FOR MORE"We have a tradition here in Boise to always play our Seniors on the final home game of the season which for us is in Week 14 against the Huskies. I sat down with both Tua and Cam this week and shared with them my intentions of having Cam get the start against the Beavers as I feel like it would be a great chance not only for us to see him in a full game as we game plan for next season but also because I want to do right by Cam and give him a chance to show NFL scouts what he has to offer.. Could it mean that he improves his stock and leaves. Well that's the chance we will have to take."
Sophomore RB Brian Crum managed to rush for 1269 yds on 238 carries in 11 games last season.. Crum has already surpassed those #'s just 10 games into this season and with back to back games averaging over 200 yds per game. as he goes into Week 12 with 246 carries for 1368 yds and 18 TD's as Doak Walker and Heisman talk starts to heat up.
ZENTNER LOOKS TO CLOSE IN ON 1000
True Freshman Eric Zentner goes into Week 13 leading the Broncos with 61 rec for 837 yds and is tied for team lead with 9 TD's. (C. Friesz also has 9) with at least 3 games to play, Zentner is well on his way to producing a 1000 yd season despite the fact he is listed as the teams #3.
BOYKINS NEARS 2000
Jermarcus Boykins huge performance against Utah has pushed his season stats to almost 2000 All-purpose yards on the season.
Boykins has 64 carries for 444 yds (6.9 avg) and 5 TD's rushing, 40 rec for 499 yds and 6 TD's receiving and 911 yds and 1 TD in Kick/Punt returns .
RECRUITING NEWS
Well Boise State has found plenty of success on the field again this season, Coach Miller and the staff have struggle again off the field despite the signing of 5* QB Tobias Barksdale, 5* WR Enrique Chance and 5* DE Nick Parker.
BSU added 4* DE Von Bender in Week 11 and now added 4* CB Devlin Yancey (#53 Overall/#1 HI/#8 CB) in Week 12 but the Broncos also lost out 6 players including a pair of 5* Recruits.
With Barksdale committed, 5* QB Lyle Vaughns (#19 Overall/#2 AZ/#3 QB) has offically removed BSU form his final 2 picking Texas after a Week 12 visit to Norman Oklahoma.
5* TE Jabu Ogbongbemiga (#27/#4/#1 TE) had a Week 14 visit scheduled for Boise but after taking a Week 11 visit to Ann Arbor has signed with Michigan as BSU will look elsewhere for their starting TE next season.
4* DT Derek Coyle (#45/#1 LA/#1DT) the #1 DT and Louisiana Gatorade POY had BSU listed #1 almost all season after taking a Week 7 trip to Boise but the New Orleans native has officially decided to stay close to home after taking a Week 12 visit to LSU.
4* C Jason Finger (#80/#5/#4) is joining Coyle at LSU and will skip his Week 13 visit to Boise.
The Offensive Line continues to take a hit as 4* RG Al Hodges (#33/#3/#2) signs with TCU after a Week 12 visit to Fort Worth as he cancels his Week 14 visit to Boise and 4* RT James Schouman (#57/#1 OR/#3 RT) the Oregon Gatorade POY is taking his talents north to Washington and Coach D as he signs with the Huskies after a Week 11 visit canceling his Week 13 visit against the Beavers.
BIG DAY IN UTAH PROBABLY SAVES DC HIS JOB
Rumors have been swirling all season that this could be DC Erik Chinander's last season in Boise but after a 5 INT day and 5 sacks against the Utes, many current players are stepping up in support of their coach.
True Freshman Roland Finley now has 5 INT's on the season and has high praise for Coach C.
Former Colorado transfer DE Tyler Rossi is also having a solid season with 8 TFL and 6.5 sacks after producing just 2.5 sacks last season for the Buff's.
JR DT has also shinned in the Broncos switch from the 4-2-5 to the 3-3-5 season season posting 7.5 sacks and 13 TFL after posting just 5.5 sacks over the last 2 seasons.
