4 game sweep against the O's is huge for you.

Robles has been okay for me in my Seattle chise.
we needed it to re-widen the gap.

I was doubtful, but then Robles laced a solo shot on his 1st AB :blessed:

At least you got a bit of a cushion in the division race with Rafaela getting injured
:yep: baring a 2011-esque collapse we're in the playoffs already, just got to get home field now

Timely sweep against Baltimore. Hopefully injuries don’t derail you
we need it against the Os in a real way. I've been pulling Crochet early the last few starts just to make sure he doesn't get hurt :rip:

Roman Anthony was clearly going to leg out the infield single to load the bases, but Gabriel Arias still attempted to make the throw after failing to get the out at 2B. Instead of nailing Anthony, Arias sailed the ball into the stands to push the 1st run across in the 3-0 loss for Cleveland.

Top Prospect Marcelo Mayer Among September Call-Ups

Image

Boston, MA. - Before the Red Sox opened their series against the Cleveland Guardians, the organization made one of its most anticipated moves of the season—promoting top prospect Marcelo Mayer to the big-league roster as part of September call-ups.

“Marcelo has had a stellar year in the minors and has earned this promotion,” manager Kyle Red said. “We fully expect his plus defense to benefit us in the final month as we attempt to capture the American League East.”

Mayer wasted little time making an impression, lacing a single in his first major league at-bat for his first career hit.

While Mayer’s promotion hardly comes as a surprise, the timing raised eyebrows. Most around the league expected Boston to leave the 21-year-old in Triple-A Worcester through the end of the season, giving the front office time to evaluate his readiness heading into 2026. But with Trevor Story’s recent resurgence at the plate since returning to the starting lineup, Mayer’s call-up feels more like a trial run than a necessity.

“This is Boston’s version of a feeling-out process,” one team source said. “If Mayer holds his own, he could earn the job outright next spring—or at least force a platoon situation with Story. But if he struggles, it only reinforces that shortstop remains one of the roster’s biggest offseason questions.”

Story, now in the third year of a six-year deal signed in 2022, has yet to deliver the kind of consistent production Boston envisioned. The club is on the hook for at least two more guaranteed years, with a team option for the final season.

While trading Story remains difficult given his contract and injury history, the front office could explore a reduced role if Mayer proves ready for an everyday opportunity. For now, the Red Sox see value in letting both coexist—one a veteran fighting to reestablish his form, the other a cornerstone prospect getting his first real taste of The Show.

I'm going to play every game of the post-season, and that worries me cause my hitting can suddenly go ice cold :fml:

the lead is safe :yep:

Due to technical difficulties I ended up simming the Yankees series. Was going to play Kirby's start (3rd game) and we rallied from a 4-2 deficit to tie it in the 9th off Williams, made it to the bottom of the 10th but when I went into the bullpen screen to warm up a new pitcher the game wouldnt let me back out. I could warm up every pitcher and sit them down, but the Back button just gave that hollow sound effect when you hit an unusable button. even put the PS in rest mode and went back in, no dice. So exited and simmed the game. Played the two series after which works out cause it sets us up for one final push for the postseason :melo2:
