PUNGA LEADS LONGHORNS TO VICTORY

GAME RECAP

Boise State's quest for a chance to playing for a 3rd National Championship comes up short yet again as the Texas Longhorns keep their perfect season alive as SR QB Ralphel Punga shows his elite ability to the nation with a 6 touchdown performance.

Punga got things going early with a pair of touchdowns as Texas took a (14-0) lead but Boise State score a touchdown as the 1st Quarter comes to a close making it (14-7) and then SR CB Kyrie Darnold comes up with a INT on Punga leading to a short 5 yd TD run by Jason Whitted to tie the game (14-14) Punga would bounced back with touchdown #3 though as Texas retakes the lead (21-14) but the Broncos answer back as Draft finds Conner Friesz on a 30 yd bomb to tie the game up (21-21). Still tied with under a minute to play Punga would throw another INT as SR FS Tremaine Crick pulls off a 1 handed grab and with 4 seconds on the clock BSU is able to tack on a 28 yd FG as BSU takes the (24-21) lead into the locker room.

Texas however would open up the 2nd half with the ball as Punga guides the Longhorns down the field on a 6 play 80 yd drive ending with with his 4th touchdown as he finds SR WR Jaden Ford for a 22 yd score. to put the Longhorns up (28-24).. Then it was the Texas Defense coming up with their own INT as they pick off Tua Draft setting up another Punga to Ford connection (Ford's 3rd TD of the game) was they extend the lead to (35-24)

Still trailing going into the 4th Draft would lead a 13 play drive ending with with his own 3 yd TD run to cut the lead to (35-31) with 7 minutes still to play but that's as close as they would get, as Punga throws his 6th TD of the game as TE Joey Jordan hauls in a 23 yd score.

Boise State would close out the game turning the ball over twice on 4th downs..

FINAL SCORE TEXAS-42 BOISE STATE-31
Coach Miller
"It's pretty tough to win a game when you go 2/13 on 3rd downs and 2/4 on 4th downs and manage just 57 yds on the ground. Give Coach Riley and the Longhorns credit. They are a great team on both sides of the ball. Punga despite the 2 INT's played as about as good of a game as you can ask from a star QB.. I feel for the 20+ guy's who won't be with us next season but we got a great group of guy's who are going to come back strong next season..My quest to bring a 3rd title to Boise isn't over yet"

WOLVERINES HEADED TO THE NATTTY!!

Michigan after scoring 42 against Louisville in the Rose Bowl manage to match their output yet again scoring 42 points against Nebraska to pull off the (42-34) victory in the Peach Bowl to earn their 3rd trip to the Natty in this Dynasty (2026, 2028, and now) as they shutdown what could've been a rematch of the 2027 Natty when Texas defeated Nebraska (38-22)..

TEXAS BATTLES MICHIGAN FOR TITLE!!

Both teams entered the game with a perfect record looking to become just the 3rd team to finish with a perfect (16-0) record in the Playoff era (Georgia when 16-0 in 2026 and Boise State went 16-0 in 2028)

Could Steve Sarkisian could the Camel off his back and finally lead the Wolverines to a Natty against his former team or would Lincoln Riley add his 2nd title to his resume in Austin.

After a averaging 42 points in their first 2 playoff games, Michigan would get just half of it against the Longhorn Defense but the Texas running attack comes to Punga's rescue as Texas pulls off a (26-21) victory the Wolverines drop to 0-3 in Natty's since 2023 victory.

For R. Punga it was not the type of game to end his career on as he throws for just 252 yds with 2 INT but the Senior adds 1 more accolade to his historic season capping it off with a National Title ring.

Miller had targeted multiple WR's in this year's portal including another former Bruin Spencer Parms the #2 Overall player and #1 WR in the portal but in the end Parms picked Clemson. #25 UConn (79/79/79)

Other receiving votes (Ole Miss/Alabama/Washington/UCLA/K-State/Wisconsin/Tulsa/USF

The Top-10 doesn't really surprise me Florida State almost made the playoffs last year. Crazy to see another season with Alabama not in the Top-25. They are a 97/99/96. Ole Miss is a 91/91/91.. I get that UConn is coming off a historic season but how does a 79/79/79 get put in the Top-25 over those 2 programs.

The new ACC is stacked with 8 teams in the Top-25 well the SEC/Big Ten and Big 12 each have 4 with the Pac-12 coming in with 3.. Washington (86/86/86) and UCLA (89/89/89) are right on the cusp though.

So Hooks decided to stay? That's a huge win.

Sucks the way the Longhorns game went, but hard to win without 3rd down conversions and without the running game I'm sure you were facing a ton of 3rd and longs.

Excited to see how Hooks does with a full season, he was solid in relief and spot starting last year :yep:

Yeah I got lucky..If he hadn't stayed I probably would've just rolled with Barksdale but hopefully he will get a nice bump redshirting.. Hooks and Crum both got a nice bump in training so I don't expect either to stick around after the season. I also got lucky with Max Kramer signing with me..

The Texas game was rough but I had a feeling it would be my toughest game of the year.. It least I lost to the Champs.

2032 MEDIA GUIDE PART II

THE ROSTER

QB
RS JR C. Hooks (94)
RS JR T. Waddle (88)
RS SO K. Gowin (85)

Cam Hooks appeared in 3 games last season passing for 649 yds and 8 TD’s He was considering joining the Draft (6th round) but returns and appears to have beat out Waddle and Gowin for the starting job replacing Draft.

Kyle Gowin appeared in 11 games last year for Oklahoma passing for 3134 yds with 28 TD and 14 INT well completing 58% of his pass’s he also rushed for 3 touchdowns giving BSU a somewhat experienced backup.

Tyrone Waddle appeared in 1 game at QB in 2030 completing 7 of 8 passes for 95 yds and 2 TD but then spent all 16 games at WR last season ending the year with 6 rec for 47 yds.

RB
JR B.Crum (99)
RS SR J. Boykins (91)
RS SR T. Fry (85)
RS FR D. Waller (82)

Brian Crum returns for what many expect to be his final season. Can he top 2000 yds? Will he lead the Broncos to a Natty and win a Heisman before becoming a 1st Round and potential #1 Overall pick?

Jermarcus Boykins has been a star for the Broncos for the past 3 seasons.. Boykins has 403 career carries for 2062 yds (5.1 avg) and has scored 24 rushing touchdowns, He also has 171 career receptions for 1693 yds and 19 TD’s and also has 68 KR for 1653 yds (24.3 avg) 1 TD as well as 40 PR for 427 yds (10.7 avg)

Tyler Fry returns to RB after spending the past 2 seasons at FB. Despite playing FB in 2030 Fry still managed to rush 30 times for 118 yds (3.9 avg) and score 10 TD’s after scoring 6 TD’s the previous season.

Drew Waller like Crum is a former 5* Utah Gatorade POY and #1 RB in his class who appears to have the inside crack at replacing Crum next season as RB1. (Stock also could be the guy)

FB
RS SO Max Davis (86)
RS SR Tobia Teague (78)
RS SO TJ Lainer (72)

All 3 are former TE’s who have transitioned to FB but also will continue to see action at TE as the team’s #3. Davis is the smallest of the 3 listed at 6’2 240lbs well Lainer is the biggest listed at 6’5 243lbs.

TE
JR Larry Ika (86)
RS FR Scott Folwer (78)

Both former 4*, Ika moves from the #2TE role and replaces Carney as the starter. Fowler redshirted last year but will now fill the #2 role with Teague and Lainer as the reserves.

WR
RS SR M. Kramer (91)
SO E. Zentner (89)
RS SR K. Harmon (85)
RS SO T. Carr (88)
RS FR C. Bromell (82)
RS FR A. Coker (82)

Max Kramer played 4 seasons (3 games as a true freshman) but logged just 12 rec for 130 yds and 1 TD (as a RS FR). At 6’5 he takes over the role that saw Conner Friesz breakout last season with a 1000+ yd double digit TD year for the Broncos.

Eric Zenter had 95 rec for 1409 yds and 13 TD as a True Freshman last season and will be looked to fill a huge role in the offense once again. He is the fastest of all the WR on the roster and will likely play as the #2 on the outside.

Kyle Harmon wears the #2 but hasn’t really produced like a star but he did had 17 rec for 173 yds and 5 TD last season filling in for Friesz and this year moves into the #3 role which saw Marquez Stockon produce a 1000 yd season.. Harmon like Kramer is 6’5 and will give Cam Hooks another big target in the red zone.

Taj Carr is a former 4* who looks will fill in as the team’s #4 well fellow former 4*’s C. Bromell and Angle Coker appear to be battling for snaps as the teams #5.

O-Line
LT RS JR M. Belaga (89
LG RS SO Q. Punga (86)
C RS JR M. Eagles (89)
RG RS JR K. Goodley (87)
RT RS JR J. Daniels (91)

Belaga and Punga (transfer from Washington) move into the starting lineup replacing East and Westbrook giving BSU 4 players picked as 1st Team Pac-12 All-Americans

OT RS SR Q. Winston (88)
OG RS JR D. Moffett (87)
OT RS SO D. Battles (85)
C RS SO R. Uzomah (82)

These guy’s make up the reserves who could be starters for most teams Winston has appeared in 29 games over the past 3 seasons and has given 3 sacks in his career.

OG RS FR B. Pride (79)
OG RS FR J. Fries (79)
OT RS FR M. Brink 80)

Miller is stockpiling young talent to keep the 0-Line strong for the next 4 years.

D-Line
RS SR T. Rossi (90)
RS SR R. Dimke (77)
RS SR Z. Trainer (83)
RS JR A. Ohalete (83)
RS FR R. Miranda (73)
Rossi, a transfer from Colorado, had a breakout season last year leading the team in sacks (12.5).. Miller hopes that Trainer (Washington) or Ohalete (Georgia State) can do the same on the other side. If they can’t the Broncos might be forced to take the redshirt off one of their incoming 5* talent (Parker/Oshinowo).

RS SR C. Johnson (89)
SR A. Incognito (87)
RS FR D. Kern (81)
RS FR T. Bouchard (80)
RS FR M. Trewyn (75)

Callum Johnson had a solid season finishing his 3rd straight year with double digit TFL well also recording 7.5 sacks. Incognito transfers in from Arizona State where he has played in 31 games recording 45 Tackles with 15 TFL and 4.5 sacks.

LineBackers
RS SR R. Capps (86)
SR P. Higdon (93)
RS JR A. Nailor (87)
SR L. Fanaika (86)
RS SR R.Braham (81)
RS SR G. Ibbara (81)

Higdon and Nailor are for sure starters well Capps and Fanakia will likely rotate in when BSU goes with 3 LB’s Braham and Ibbara give this untit alot of experienced depth.. Every one of these guy’s are former transfers at some point in their career but both Higdon and Nailor got plenty of PT last year behind Icgonito and Tiffin who are both playing on Sunday’s now.

Secondary

RS SO Q Forrest (85)
SO R. Finely (82)
RS FR R.. Stack (82)
RS JR T. Simms (81)
RS SO A. Killabrew (77)
RS SO M. Darnold (76)

Iowa transfer Quincy Forrest comes in as the highest rated and has the best Man Coverage skills but former 5* Roland Finely has 5 INT’s last season and has shown he is ready to be CB1. Fellow former 5* Barry Stack joins JR Tremaine Simms and Washington State transfer Antonie Killebrew (78 Tackles 3 INT) as quality backups.

SR J. Medeiros (86)
RS SO M. Moreau (84)
RS JR M. Dishman (77)

Miller and DC Erik Chiander hit a homerun in the portal landing Medeiros a 2 year starter at TCU and Moreau (CAL). Medeiros won the starting job well Moreau will learn the Defense as the Dime back and be ready to step in next year.

RS SR N. Kohou (82)
RS FR T. Tubbs (78)
RS FR E. Bartee (74)

Kohou returns to his starting role after logging 87 Tackles with 2 INT last season. Terrance Tubbs a Ohio State transfer came to BSU as a LB but moves to SS where he will learn from Kohou and be ready to take over as the starter next season.

Special Teams

PK RS JR C. Eagles (83)
P RS FR R. Walters (81)

Eagles had a solid season last year connecting on 21/28 FG’s and 93/96 XPT. Eagles was 6/6 from kicks 40-49 but just 3 of 8 from 50+ connecting on a 55 yd long.

Walters takes over for 4 year Punter Mitch Lauderdale.

RB Jemarcus Boykins has been on of the primary return specialist for the past 3 seasons with 68 KR (1653 yds (24.3 avg) including a 99 yd touchdown well also returning 40 PR 427 yds (10.7 avg)

SMU Transfer Max Kramer also has experience in the return game with 49 KR for 1420 yds (29.0 avg) and 22 PR for 286 yds (13.0 avg)

Look for RS FR Taj Carr (87 Ovr) however to spend the bulk of the time back there as both Boykins and Kramer will be filling bigger roles in the Bronco Offense, well Carr is projected as the #4 WR.

Miller
"Overall I am pretty excited about this year's roster. It's full of on tapped and unseen talent. Crum/Boykins and Zentner are really the only Offensive weapons that have seen alot of action so I am excited to see who steps up this season.. On Defense we landed alot of help in both the Secondary and LB group that hopefully will help us get back to where we want to be.. We need to put more pressure on the QB and we need to generate more turnovers... Cam Hooks showed in the Oregon State game last season he is more the capable of leading this program.. However it's my hope that we find situations where we can get a look at both Kyle Gowin and Tobias Barksdale.. Those 2 guy's are our future. Gowin proved he can play at a high level last year at Oklahoma but Barksdale was the #1 Overall player and #1 QB in his class for a reason"
