KYLE BUSCH DOMINATES AT MARTINSVILLE AS MCQUEEN SALVAGES A TOP TEN
Image
LOGAN MCQUEEN FIGHTS BACK FROM ADVERSITY TO CLAIM A HARD-EARNED TOP TEN FINISH

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series rolled into Martinsville Speedway for a bruising short-track showdown in the Boys and Girls Club of the Blue Ridge 200, where Kyle Busch powered his No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet to victory in dominant fashion.

Busch led 124 of 200 laps under the lights, holding off Ty Majeski and Kaden Honeycutt in a race defined by heavy contact and pit-lane chaos. Behind them, Logan McQueen III endured one of the most up-and-down races of his rookie campaign, rallying from the mid-pack to finish 10th after an intense night of adjustments, strategy, and sheer perseverance.

Starting 5th, McQueen showed top-five speed early in the No. 51 Mechanix Wear Peak Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado, but a long green-flag stretch saw him slip outside the top ten as the truck tightened through the center of the corners. Crew chief Alex Ward called for major adjustments on a mid-race pit stop that helped the truck’s balance, allowing McQueen to claw back toward the front.

Late in the final stage, McQueen opted to stay out on worn tires while most of the leaders pitted. The gamble paid off enough to keep him inside the top ten despite a loose-handling truck in the closing laps, capping off a gritty comeback run at one of NASCAR’s toughest half-miles.

Busch scored his second win of the season, followed by Majeski, Honeycutt, Chandler Smith, and Daniel Hemric. McQueen’s tenth-place finish keeps him 8th in the standings, maintaining momentum heading into Bristol.

Damn shots fired at Agent.

How is the truck feeling? You aren't dominating as much did it just take some time to get used to it or did you get some upgrades in after the first couple of races?

Yeah it’s been a combination of factors. When you start a series you basically have a garbage car/truck and I don’t see how you would ever hang at Daytona. After a few races you get the option for leveled upgrades and more of those levels unlock as you go. I also switched to the steering wheel after a couple races and I have been adjusting to that. As I have upgraded I have tried to offset that by increasing AI difficulty.

LIGHTNING STRIKES AT BRISTOL: MCQUEEN DOMINATES FOR FIRST TRUCK WIN
Image
LOGAN MCQUEEN WINS EVERY STAGE AND EARNS HIS FIRST CAREER TRUCK SERIES VICTORY UNDER THE LIGHTS AT BRISTOL

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series put on a show at Bristol Motor Speedway, but nobody shined brighter than Logan McQueen III, who delivered a statement performance in the No. 51 Peak Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado.

After earning his first career pole position, McQueen never looked back, sweeping both of the first two stages and leading the field to the checkered flag in the Weather Guard Truck Race for his first career NASCAR Truck Series victory.

From the drop of the green flag, McQueen’s truck was on rails. He pulled away early from Corey Heim and Layne Riggs, setting the tone for the night. The rookie showed veteran-level poise through lapped traffic, maintaining control of every restart and executing flawlessly on pit road. Each stage ended the same way, with the yellow No. 51 crossing the line first.

In the closing laps, McQueen managed his tires perfectly and handled pressure from Riggs, Majeski, and Smith, who all made late runs but couldn’t match the pace of the Peak Motorsports entry. When the checkered flag waved, McQueen crossed the line more than four seconds ahead, securing a flag-to-flag victory and an emotional first win for both driver and team.

The triumph marks a defining moment for the young driver, who has steadily improved since his Daytona debut. Crew chief Alex Ward and the Peak Motorsports crew celebrated in Victory Lane as McQueen climbed from the truck to a roaring Bristol crowd, pumping his fists in the air in what was a culmination of months of hard work and perseverance.

“It’s surreal,” McQueen said after the race. “This team has worked their tails off to get here. We brought a rocket tonight, and to win my first one like this, from the pole, sweeping every stage. It’s something I’ll never forget.”
