No Mercy.
Former Chanticleer Hugh Boselli's return to The Teal was not the redemption story he had hoped. On the first play of the game, Tavares Tinker torched the CB for a 75 yard touchdown for his first of two TDs over the former 4* recruit.

Conway, SC. - For a brief moment, it looked like the Liberty Flames might actually turn their Week 12 matchup with Coastal Carolina into a real rivalry game. They answered the Chanticleers’ opening touchdown with one of their own — and then the roof caved in.
Coastal rattled off 70 straight points en route to an 84–10 demolition on The Teal, putting an emphatic exclamation mark on another undefeated regular season.
It was a particularly rough homecoming for former Chanticleer CB Hugh Boselli, who transferred out of Coastal two years ago in search of more playing time. After a pit stop at Arizona, Boselli landed at Liberty — and reportedly had this game circled on his calendar all year. Unfortunately for him, old teammate Tavares Tinker made sure it was one to forget.
On the first play from scrimmage, Tinker burned Boselli for a 75-yard touchdown, shouting “This is why your bum ass left!” as he cruised into the end zone. He finished the night with just two catches — both long touchdowns against his former teammate.
By halftime, the Chanticleers led 49–7, and the onslaught continued after the break. Heisman frontrunner Cornell Jennings was his usual dominant self, scoring four touchdowns and rushing for 171 yards on just 15 carries. His first score came with a quiet kneel in the end zone — a tribute to his late grandfather — but after that, Jennings was back to striking poses, hitting the Heisman after his fourth trip to the end zone.
Head coach Kade Vaughn pulled his starters midway through the third quarter, but the fireworks didn’t stop. True freshman and former No. 1 overall recruit Anthony Prude took over and dazzled, accounting for four total touchdowns while flashing the dual-threat ability that has fans buzzing about his future in Conway.
When asked postgame about continuing to score with the backups, Vaughn smirked.
“Yeah, yeah — looks like we’re running up the score again, right? It’s a rivalry game. No one in the ACC to ‘respect’ here, so let they mama love ’em,” he said. “Truth is, we did this with Fred too. Ant’s got the inside track next year, and you can’t simulate live reps. If Buddie wants to fine me for that?” Vaughn shrugged to finish the quote.
While the offense torched Liberty, the Teal Wall was equally merciless. Senior Alfonso Smith, who had cooled off after his record-breaking start, erupted for four sacks in what’s expected to be his final game at Brooks Stadium. The performance pushed him past former Miami standout Rueben Bain Jr. for both the ACC and NCAA single-season sack records, now sitting at 27.5.
“I said this spring the D-line needed to help the secondary more,” Smith said. “So I just did my job — and made sure to do it loud.”
With the win, Coastal completed another perfect regular season and will now set their sights on a heated ACC Championship rematch with Miami — a matchup that needs no extra hype between two programs that have made no secret of their mutual disdain over the past two seasons.
When asked about the rematch, Vaughn didn’t flinch.
“They said they wanted another shot at the crown,” he said, flashing a grin. “But they’d better be careful what they wish for.”
Alfonso Smith made history with the first of four sacks, pushing the new NCAA single season sack record to 27.5 and counting.
Back in action like he never left. Jennings added another 170 yards and four more tuddies to his Heisman resume.
Jennings may be this year's Heisman winner, but if Prude's performance is any indication he's got next after tallying 250 yards and 4 total touchdowns in a quarter and a half.
