‣ Melvin threw three interceptions last year in the 30-23 loss to the Cardinal in the regular season finale that effectively kept Notre Dame out of the playoffs. In his second year as a starter, Melvin has seen a slight regression with a lower completion percentage, less yards per game and has thrown three interceptions in the last two games. When he's on his game, Melvin is one of the nation's best quarterbacks, however, and will be able to challenge a secondary that has shown the tendency to give up some splash plays, even when they're playing well.

Ofodile is making himself a lot of money with that decision as he has 42 tackles, four tackles for loss and three interceptions with five pass deflections and will be key in Notre Dame's attempt at slowing down the running game.
