i know you see those five stars, cuh

need 3 stars for depth since im going to start pushing out 4-stars that don't play right away to keep it realistic and challenging

Notre Dame upsets rival No. 1 Stanford in overtime
Stanford had Notre Dame quarterback David Hammer dead to rights with nowhere for the quarterback to go with the game on the line. Hammer somehow escaped the grasp of the oncoming defender, maneuvered his way through bodies and found Garrison Boyette for the touchdown in overtime to keep Notre Dame alive.

Stanford quarterback Earl Nienhuis didn't have the same luck, getting sacked on fourth down as Notre Dame upset No. 1 Stanford 43-37 on Saturday night in a game that will go down as one for the ages for the rivalry.

It was all Notre Dame in the first half who were leading 9-0 when with six seconds left, Nienhuis was hit by a defender as he was trying to throw a Hail Mary attempt, resulting in an interception by Elijah Addai touchdown.

Addai would come up clutch once more in the fourth quarter after Stanford had rallied back to tie the game thanks to a sixteen point third quarter and then swapped touchdowns with Notre Dame in the fourth quarter. Stanford had a chance to take the lead with a 35-yard field goal with a minute left but the kick sailed right. After a Notre Dame three-and-out, Stanford got the ball back with 40 seconds left where Addai would pick up Nienhuis' fumble on a strip sack by Mike Leal.

The Cardinal would roar back into the game with an incredible 35-second drive that included a 36-yard completion to Colt Mixon and then three straight completions prior to the 14-yard touchdown to Rodney Cookus with seven seconds left. Stanford initially put their offense out there with the chance to take the lead with a two point conversion but ultimately decided to kick the football and force overtime.

Stanford would score on their first drive and nearly had the game won but Hammer's escape trick forced a second period of overtime where Boyette scored on a 23-yard run on third and eight but Hammer would be sacked on the two point conversion. Presented with third and one from the 16-yard line, Rashawn Crouse would be stuffed behind the line of scrimmage, setting up the fourth down where Nienhuis was sacked.

An all-time great game for sure - shades of Stanford knocking off U$C with Sherman at WR lol.

:rip: being on this end of it sucks though
