Eddie and Cena seemed intent on crowning a new MITB holder (one of themselves) in this match as they spent a large part of it working together, double teaming Edge to keep him out of things. Eddie and Cena then turned their attentions to each other with Eddie's high flying style contrasting with Cena's street brawler approach. Cena started to gain the upper hand in the matchup, but then Edge slid back into the ring and hit him with a Spear but Cena rolled out of the ring before he could cover him. A relatively fresh Edge then faced off with a spent Eddie Guerrero and he was winning the matchup with him. He dodged a springboard kick from Eddie then hit him with the Edgecution and then a Spear and looked well on his way to a win, but Cena got back in the ring, tossed Edge out and covered Eddie to steal the win and become the new Mr. Money in the Bank.

The Hurricane was getting absolutely brutalized by Umaga early on in this matchup as the Samoan's size and strength were simply too much for him. But we saw a different side of Hurricane take over to get him back into the contest. He went for a steel chair and unloaded on Umaga with it, evening the odds with a weapon and showing himself to be a bit more anti-hero than just pure superhero with his tactics. Umaga wasn't done though and got his own equalizer, a kendo stick, to return some vicious shots to Hurricane in kind. The action spilled back into the ring and Hurricane was able to hit Umaga with his Slingshot Lariat finisher but that was only good for a three count. Umaga later tossed him back outside and set up a table and lit it on fire. They brawled elsewhere for a while, but then Umaga started dragging Hurricane towards the table looking to end the match and possibly his career as well. He lifted Hurricane up for a Samoan Drop but at the last second the United States Champion slipped out and managed to kick Umaga into and through the burning table, seriously damaging him. Hurricane rolled Umaga back into the ring and hit a second Slingshot Lariat on a wounded Umaga to win the match and retain his United States Championship.

Scott Steiner made his debut in singles competition with this match against Randy Orton and boy oh boy did he deliver. He didn't look out of place at all without his brother RIck and put on an absolutely dominating performance against the Intercontinental Champion Orton. He ended things relatively quickly with a devastating Frankensteiner off the top turnbuckle to knock Randy's lights out and win the Intercontinental Championship.
