Hokies Suffer Major Injury Blows Despite Perfect Start
Injuries Hit as ACC Play Starts

Blacksburg, VA — The Virginia Tech Hokies may be riding high at 4–0 and ranked 23rd in the nation, but their depth chart took a significant hit this week with the loss of two key starters to long-term injuries. Senior cornerback Isaiah Brown-Murray, one of the anchors of Tech’s secondary, will be sidelined for six weeks after suffering a broken collarbone. Meanwhile, star running back Terion Stewart, the heart of the Hokies’ ground game, is out for the next five weeks with a torn labrum.

Stewart’s injury is particularly devastating given his role in Virginia Tech’s offensive identity. The senior from Memphis, TN — known as an Elusive Bruiser who combines shifty footwork with punishing power — has been the go-to weapon in critical situations. His ability to grind out tough yards and keep the chains moving will be sorely missed as the Hokies enter the thick of ACC play. I’m thinking about playing him both ways, I wouldn’t mind getting him like 5-10 snaps a game, I just don’t want to wear him out as he is a stud in the secondary.
