Pile of departures but it looks like the incoming class is good. Hopefully between that and progression you will be better next season.

You doubled the crime rate in Delaware in this dynasty.
We putting Delaware on notice for the people...not in a positive light tho :kghah:

I feel pretty good about the class I got. I'll probably be taking another step back this year but at least I got building blocks for the future

Goddamn, that was an exodus of players heading out. Going to be a whole new team you're fielding next season.
For real, almost every starter on both sides of the ball are gone. A lot of fellas gotta step up next season

Delaware Football Preview 2026
by Cornelius Deeznutson

Previous Season Record: 4-8 (3-5)
Head Coach: Randall Tolliver (2nd season)
Offensive Coordinator: Terrence Archer (2nd season)
Defensive Coordinator: Manny Rojas (2nd season)
Offense: Spread
Defense: 3-3-5

From the Ryan Carty regime revealed to be part of the drug cartel to interim athletic director Jordan Skolnick being murdered, the Delaware football program has been riddled with controversy over the past year. Although the Blue Hens finished 4-8 last season, many of the games were decided by a single score. If things swung more in Delaware's favor, they could have made a bowl game.

This offseason, Delaware lost almost all their key players on offense and defense either via graduation or the transfer portal. Head coach Randall Tolliver will have a tough mountain to climb as he will have to lead an inexperienced Blue Hens team to improve off of a disappointing FBS debut season.

Offense Preview

The only returning starter from last season is quarterback Riley Trujillo. Not only is the offense completely new, this season's Blue Hens offense is projected to be much, much weaker.

Losing last season's HB2 and HB3 to the transfer portal, the Blue Hens were forced to depend on the three redshirt sophomores Oliver Redd, Greg Spiller, and Daniel McConomy. After a strong showing in the spring, Oliver Redd has gotten the upper edge over the other two backs in the position battle. The running back from Reistertown, Maryland, was recently seen taking first team reps at practice.

There is no red zone threat on the team this year. The top five receivers on the rosters are all under 6'0", with an average height of 5'9". Even their starting tight end Noah Vitko is undersized at 6'0". Sophomore Matt McKinley will possibly be seeing snaps this season as he recently went viral after jumping over a Aston Martin in honor of the Black Mamba. Although he only stands at 6'0", he is reported to have the highest vertical on the team. Maybe the coaches should scout the basketball team to see if one of them wants to walk-on.

Lastly, center Vysen Lang will have to carry this offensive line on his back. Almost every play in scrimmages, the right side of the offensive line was seen getting blown up immediately when the ball gets snapped. The only lineman who played with the Blue Hens last season was right guard Anthony Caccese, who was struggling heavily during recent practices. Unfortunately, his competition at right guard and comrades at right tackle are much worse than him. Riley Trujillo, I think it is time to learn how to throw left handed. I am bring out the belt that Tua's father used to teach him how to play football. Plays to the left side only all season long, baby!

Defense Preview

With the addition of former Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Thomas to the team, hopefully the defense will be able to create more pressure this season. Linebackers Mekhi Carmon and Jawarren Corbin have gained a role as the Jack in certain formations as they started to be used on the line of scrimmage as well.

Besides the crime occurring in the football program, true freshman linebacker Pat Gammon has been the talk of the town for fans. The four-star recruit is hyped as the future of the team's defense, already gaining a starting position as the SAM linebacker.

The weakest point of the defense is the secondary, especially after losing starting safeties KT Seay and Hasson Manning Jr. to the portal. A new set of safeties will be starting this season with redshirt freshman AJ Graham and junior Kingsley Royal lining up top and redshirt sophomore Alex Adebayo as the rover. KShawn Cox Jr. and Kahlil Ali return as the team's top two corners for this season with Nyair Domnie in the slot for nickel packages. At least UTEP is in the MWC, so this secondary will not get burned again and blow the lead at the last second.

Going to be a tough ass schedule all things considered, but I think a Bowl game might be manageable.
